Our Commitment to Family Caregivers

Happy at Home Care Support Services is dedicated to empowering family caregivers with the knowledge and support they need. Founded by Sheona Kloostra, a registered nurse with firsthand experience in caregiving challenges, our mission is to provide compassionate, nurse-managed homecare services. Since 2007, we have been a trusted partner in the community, offering personalized care solutions that prioritize the well-being and independence of seniors. Our team is committed to making a difference in the lives of families by delivering reliable, ethical, and responsive care tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Nutrition Tips for Senior Well-being

Proper nutrition is crucial for maintaining the health and vitality of seniors. At Happy at Home Care Support Services, we emphasize the importance of balanced meals that cater to the dietary needs of older adults. Our experts recommend incorporating a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains into daily meal plans. Staying hydrated and managing portion sizes are also key to ensuring seniors receive the nutrients they need. We offer guidance on meal planning and preparation to help caregivers provide nutritious and enjoyable meals for their loved ones.

Ensuring Senior Safety

Creating a Safe Home Environment

Maintaining a safe home environment for seniors is crucial to prevent accidents and promote independence. Implementing fall prevention strategies, such as installing grab bars in bathrooms and ensuring adequate lighting, can significantly reduce the risk of injuries. Additionally, rearranging furniture to create clear pathways and removing tripping hazards like loose rugs are essential steps in safeguarding your loved ones. At Happy at Home Care Support Services, we provide personalized assessments to identify potential safety risks and recommend practical home modifications to enhance safety and comfort.

Understanding Palliative Care

Supporting Families Through Palliative Care

Palliative care focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illnesses, aiming to improve the quality of life for both patients and their families. This comprehensive approach addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring that families receive compassionate support during challenging times. Our team at Happy at Home Care Support Services collaborates with healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care plans that respect the wishes and dignity of each individual. By prioritizing comfort and open communication, we help families navigate the complexities of palliative care with confidence and peace of mind.

Alzheimer’s Care Strategies

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease requires patience, understanding, and effective communication strategies. Establishing a consistent daily routine can provide stability and reduce anxiety for both caregivers and individuals with Alzheimer’s. Utilizing clear and simple language, along with visual cues, can enhance communication and foster meaningful interactions. At Happy at Home Care Support Services, we offer resources and guidance to support caregivers in managing the unique challenges of Alzheimer’s care. Our goal is to empower families with the tools and knowledge needed to provide compassionate and effective care at home.
